(More customer reviews)Last year I was in the market for a new MP3 player. I've never been one to spend a whole lot on anything (because I've never had that much money to spend on anything if I'm honest).
So, after looking around for the cheaper mp3 players, I decided on this one.
I've had it for over a year now and it hasn't shut down on me yet. So there's one thing it's got going for it.
The interface isn't particularly intuitive, but it gets the job done. One note on that though, not too long after I purchased the unit, it would (and still does) occasionally confuse it's own buttons. For example, I'll decide I don't want to listen to a song, I'll press ">>" and the player will simply pause the song. This doesn't happen especially frequently, but it does happen. I'm able to fix it right away too, so it's never more than a minor annoyance.
The storage system doesn't seem to order the files in any particular way, unless you load them in folders for each album, which is fine but won't allow you to play every song on the unit randomly, only the ones in that particular folder.
While I'm on the topic of the random feature, it's not particularly good. It seems that random merely selects about 20 files and plays THOSE randomly, occasionally switching one song out.
That does it for all the negative things I've got to say about the unit. It may seem like a lot at first but considering the price, it's well worth it. On top of this, the unit requires NO proprietary software (something that's always been a deal-breaker when shopping for players). This player essentially works like a flash drive.
All in all, I'm happy with my purchase. It's far from perfect, but considering the price it's well worth it. The fact that it doesn't require any proprietary software is a BIG plus for me too, but maybe sort of thing doesn't bother you as much as it does me.
